Legislative Highlights: Foster care reform

In 2015, a federal court ruled that when children leave Texas’ foster care system, they “almost uniformly leave State custody more damaged than when they entered.” Today, the TCCB, Catholic Charities Fort Worth, and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston are testifying in support of reform to help Texas’ 29,000 foster children.

Prayer for the Legislature

Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. and his staff have invited Catholics from throughout the state to join them in praying the rosary, using Facebook live streaming. The rosary is offered at 8 a.m. every Wednesday, through the end of the session.
